In the International section, children of more than 65 nationalities study from the ages of 3 – 18 years. Among them are children of Russian citizens as well as children of embassy officials and employees from the largest foreign companies operating in Moscow. English is the language of communication which unites them all.
Russian as a foreign language is compulsory. In the senior classes pupils can also opt to take up another language of their choice from French, German or Spanish. Qualified specialists from Great Britain teach in the schools, as well as Russian teachers who are fluent in English. A high level of mutual understanding and respect along with an individual approach to each pupil creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. A fascinating and creative curriculum promotes the development of each pupil in their efforts to attain high academic results. We strive to introduce our pupils to culture and art, using not only study material but also visits to museums, art galleries, theatres and exhibitions in Moscow. Pupils in the older classes prepare for IGCSE exams (International General Certificate of Secondary Education), conducted with the assistance of Cambridge and London Universities examination board, and IB (the International Baccalaureate) which enables them to enter western universities.
.
Pupils who need to improve their English first study under a separate programme in ESL classes (English as a Second Language), thus obtaining additional preparation in English. The curriculum has been devised by specialists from Cambridge University specifically to help those for whom English is not their native language. On completion, children move into mainstream classes in the school.
The school day starts at 9:00 am and finishes at 2:40 pm for the younger classes and 3:20 pm for the older ones. Our pupils are provided with everything necessary for their lessons, in line with materials needed for the British National Curriculum.
The school keeps close and friendly relations with the parents. Without a doubt this has a profound influence not only on the academic but also the individual development of pupils. Parental trust signifies a huge responsibility for the school, and all staff do everything in their power to warrant this trust. версия для печати
